Kotka is prized internationally for its beautiful parks with Sculptures- and the 5 km long path with ART on the route. Parks of Kotka with Art
City is world-famous for the Design of the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto - Sunila Aalto Homes in Kotka. The Sunila residence area is to be UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Sunila residential area is also known as "a workers´paradise", from the 1930´s. It has been presented at World exhibitions in Paris, France and New York, USA:
The Sunila is an icon of Alvar Aalto´s architecture, it includes the Sunila pulp mill, that is also desgined by Aalto. It is called "the most beautiful factory in Finland.Visit Kotka Hamina.fi
Kotka is also reknown of the Collection of Sculptures and reliefs of Finnish-Barbaranese Kain Tapper. Works have been Deponated to City´s public indoor spaces for free - to people to see. Take a close look to the painting or "patina" on the finished surface of the sculpture.
Co-operation has continued since year 2011 in model of "Mecenate "of art in Etruscan language, in Etruscan cultural meaning.
